General Foreman – South Yorkshire

My Client is a leading construction and infrastructure development company dedicated to promoting sustainable transportation and active travel solutions in South Yorkshire. As a General Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in making these visions a reality.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Foreman to oversee and manage active travel scheme construction projects in South Yorkshire. The General Foreman will lead a team of construction workers, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of active travel infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage active travel scheme projects, including planning, execution, and completion.
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise construction teams, ensuring they work efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out to high-quality standards and in compliance with project specifications and relevant regulations.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
  • Coordinate and allocate resources, including equipment, materials, and labour, to optimize project performance.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and take corrective actions to keep projects on schedule.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status.
  • Help manage project budgets, including cost estimation, cost control, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including daily reports, timesheets, and other relevant documentation.
  • Resolve any issues that may arise during construction, such as delays, design changes, or unexpected site conditions.
