An established regional based main contractor is looking for either an Assistant or Project Estimator to join their established team. They’re looking for an Estimator with a main contracting / general construction background.

The role
This is a truly exciting opportunity to work on various different types of tenders and projects. Projects include some (but not all) Primary and high schools, Listed buildings, Medical centres / NHS projects, Stadiums etc . The tender values will vary between £7 and £25 million.
My client are an established building contractor. This is a fantastic opportunity the successful candidate would be vital to the continuing growth of this exciting organisation.
Duties
Monitor potential incoming enquiries.
Prepare & send out sub-contract & material enquiries using conquest enquiry system
Where required produce accurate take-offs
Build relationships with Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Competitors
Maintain up-to-date market knowledge of labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors
Manage, as directed, enquiries for labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors
Price bills/schedules analytically and produce quote comparisons using conquest estimating software
Developing the companies estimating library
Check tender documentation
Measure tender against Decision Analysis
Inform Tender Committee on Contract Conditions
Essentials
Must have worked as a build estimator / client side quantity surveyor or within a pre construction team in a previous role
Must have some estimating software in a previous role (ideally ConQuest).

Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload
Excellent attention to detail
Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively delegates as appropriate
