Electrical Site Engineer

Purpose of the job

The Purpose Electrical Site Engineer is to work as part of the Electrical construction Team on behalf of Dragados, consisting of Electrical Package manger, Electrical Engineer and Electrical Site Engineer, Primarily the Electrical Site Engineer will be will be both Office and Site based with more of a focus on site, They will be monitoring the electrical installations and ensuring that it is installed as per the design and in line with the specifications and applicable standards,

Keeping a close eye on the quality is a key item and ensuring that progressive assurance is achieved with the client through regular inspections as identified as part of the inspection and test plans.



Accountabilities/Key responsibilities

Design

Design Constructability Reviews of MEP.
Drive and review surveys needed for MEP designs.
Review all necessary Specifications.
Review MEP Design FDCRs.
Programme

Review programmes for all MEP works.
Manage Site interface on programme where necessary between MEP trades.
Liaise with the MEP planner and Ensure programme updates are carried out in a timely manner.
General Duties

Assist the Electrical Package Manager to carry out all necessary to deliver the works.
Deliver all works as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Attend all MEP meetings where applicable.
Carry out PGI when required.
Manage under instruction some of the fabrication drawing review process and associated design deliverables.
Draft RFIs when required.
Ensure the subcontractor's documents all safe systems of work. Monitor and arrange periodic revisions to ensure documents are kept relevant to the works and up to date.
Carry out IRF'S with the client and subcontractor.
Ensuring the subcontractor's commissioning of systems is done in a controlled and safe manner.
Ensure the subcontractor complies with safe systems of work standards and processes.
Assist and where required get involved with systems testing & commissioning and LU handover processes, QICC, BIU, MAID, etc.
Day to day problem solving.
Carry out all necessary inspections and snags on site to ensure a timely handover to LUL.
Day to day Inspector mediation.
Carry out briefings and induction when required.


Job-Specific Health, Safe & Environmental Responsibilities

Review and approve MEP RAMS, SNCs.
Ensure subcontractors have set up and manage a safe system of work.
Ensure Handover Packages are compiled, approved and delivered on time to meet project demands.
Review NCRs where required.
Review and approve Red Line Drawings.
Maintain Handover Tracker.


Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Training

Mandatory

C&G 236 parts 1 & 2 Minimum
Up to date SMSTS
At least 4-5 years' experience carrying out the duties described within this job description.
Rail Background required, may consider candidate hasn't worked on Underground stations previously.
CSCS/ECS Card
Experience and Knowledge of testing and commissioning.
Good communication skills (able to give site inductions and briefings when required).
Ability to carry out some basic electrical calculations onsite.
Experience with delivering this standard of work to the client including all the assurance deliverables.
