About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical Building Services Design Engineer to join our dynamic M&E team, part of our wider Engineering and Sustainability Hub. This role offers opportunities for personal growth and skill development, working on high-profile projects across various sectors including commercial, retail, industrial, and residential. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive electrical design packages and will report directly to the Local Line Manager and Partner in Charge.


  • Handle all aspects of electrical building services design, including but not limited to low voltage distribution, lighting and emergency lighting, lighting control systems, small power, and containment.
  • Produce electrical design drawings, schematics, and technical reports.
  • Conduct site inspections, feasibility studies, and energy audits.
  • Participate in client and contractor meetings, providing technical input and gathering requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
  • Maintain working knowledge of BS 7671 IET Wiring regulations and other relevant industry standards.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.


  • Degree in engineering systems design or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in building services design.
  • Licentiate Building Services Engineer or similar.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, and design software like Amtech, Dialux, and Relux.
  • Working knowledge of IES, SBEM, and Part L requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
