Job Description:

CMDP, a joint venture between MWH Treatment and Costain, is responsible for maintaining and improving Southern Waters water supply and wastewater treatment works in the eastern half of its region (Kent & East Sussex). As a Document Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient document management and adherence to best practices within the project environment.

Responsibilities:

Upload and manage documents within the eDMS (Electronic Document Management System) in accordance with best practice standards.
Handle and manage the Projectwise systems effectively.
Champion document management processes and systems within the project environment, promoting best practices.
Review, manage, and upload documents held on project sites.
Understand and adhere to legal, contract, Southern Water, and CMDP document management requirements.
Efficiently handle inquiries and provide effective responses.
Perform other project and non-project related activities as required.
Assist in the production and distribution of electronic and hard copy documents as needed.
Promote training to the operational team and suppliers on the use of the eDMS (SharePoint and Business Collaborator) and related IT systems.
Provide assurance to Senior Document Controllers by maintaining records in line with expectations and ensuring their availability for the JV Audit Programme in a timely manner.
Identify and implement areas for improvement and share best practices with the team.

Skills/Experience:

Proven experience in a document control function.
High level of competence in the use of the Microsoft Office suite and other IT systems.
Several years of experience in a similar role in the construction or related industry.
Highly organized with an exceptional attention to detail, ability to plan and prioritize your workload, and work effectively to meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with peers and senior engineers.

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
Possession of a full UK driving license and the ability to travel within the Southern Water region, primarily to the East of the M23/A23.
Experience in using Business Collaborator, SharePoint, and/or a quick learner/problem solver would be advantageous.
