Do you have an eye for attention to detail? Keen to develop your career in the construction industry? This is an excellent opportunity to join a Tier 1 Main Contractor and play a pivotal role as a Document Controller in Hertfordshire. This is a permanent vacancy for a candidate that has previous experience of working with Main Contractors.

Duties include:
• Understanding of EDMS to establish filing structures, manage administrative and general access rights for internal / external project teams.
• Review uploaded documents to ensure compliance with referencing protocols to ensure quality of information.
• Establish review workflows for: Design, Procurement and Delivery. These should allow automated commenting and awarding of ‘statuses’ to confirm acceptability of design and revision management.
• Liaise with BIM Management Consultant to ensure BIM Model and review process is compatible with design workflows and IT protocols.
• Assisting with standardising project documentation wherever possible e.g. tendering requirements, reports, pro-formas, checklists.
• Assist with preparing large project transmittals e.g. at tender stage and procurement of consultants.
• Monitoring support and administration of EDMS, including basic user training and development.
• Work with existing project teams, including external consultants, to collate as much historic information as possible and migrate to the EDMS.
• Establish a project monitoring and reporting structure to highlight consultants, contractors and internal non-compliances and to report on project usage of EDMS - produce monthly report once established.
• Work with internal teams to collate industry best practice, guidance and technical notes within Viewpoint and update accordingly.
• Assist in establishing ‘on-site’ snagging protocols and link to external packages such as BIM 360.
• Assist project teams with preparing general reports, management of company policies and procedure documents.

The successful candidate will have:
• General understanding of construction industry, including typical documentation / drawings, etc.
• Strong organisations skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities.
• Flexibility to travel to site offices, where required to assist with establishing new folder structures or workflows.
