Document Controller (Construction) - 12 month contract, starts May 2022 - Birmingham - circa £15.00 per hour DOE

AndersElite need a document controller for one of its premier clients a leading building services contractor based in Birmingham, to work both in their office and on a major building project for its duration, also in Birmingham.

The role will be split between our client's regional office and the cabin setups based on the construction site nearby, working Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm.

The candidate will be responsible for the full document control management for the building services contractor on a large construction project from start to finish. The role comprises the administration, control, monitoring, downloading, uploading, filing and distribution of information exchanges as necessary for and behalf of the delivery team, in accordance with QA procedures and the projects specific Electronic document control system portal.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Manage and oversee documents for a particular project.
• Ensure the proper documents are created and signed accordingly ensuring issue number is correct
• Ensure all documents are accurate and are stored and backed up and any retention policies are followed
• Collect, scan and upload documents following set procedures
• Ensure all technical documents, such as reports, drawings registered correctly on the system
• Notify personnel of updated document versions and how to access them
• Print and distribute documents as necessary
• Work with documents and records across various departments and sites

TECHNICAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

• Experience in document or records management
• Experience working with many file types
• Ability to find and preserve paper and electronic documents
• Basic understanding of construction documents
• Competent in relevant IT skills

It is expected the ideal candidate will have good communication, IT Skills and previous experiences and knowledge of Construction Document control systems, such as Viewpoint (4P’s)

It would be ideal if the candidate has previous experience of being based on construction sites (office based) but this is not essential.

This is a long term freelance role and will likely last 12 months which is the duration of the build programme on site, incorporating a suitable lead in period before site stage for planning purposes.

Payment is depending on experience circa £15-17.00 per hour PAYE Umbrella based on working 40-45 hours per week Monday to Friday.
