Job Responsibilities:

As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the planning and design phases of water treatment projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop detailed designs, specifications, and technical drawings for water treatment plants.
  • Conducting feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimations for proposed projects.
  • Applying engineering principles and industry best practices to optimize the design and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools to create accurate and comprehensive engineering drawings.
  • Participating in project meetings, providing technical expertise, and liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Identifying and resolving design issues, offering innovative solutions, and continuously improving design processes.
  • Keeping up-to-date with emerging trends, advancements, and regulations in the water sector to incorporate them into the design process.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in design engineering within the water sector, with a focus on water treatment plants. Experience in the UK water industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, equipment, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and other relevant design tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within established deadlines.
