Cost Engineer role - Manchester based - Civil Construction, Property, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, Power and Utilities - up to £60,000 + full package - Home based / site based 3 days (West Cheshire)

Role
My clients global project portfolio of small and medium projects accumulating up to £100 million capital expenditures annually. Select projects ranging from £50 million to in excess of £500 million
The role has multiple stakeholders, internal and external customers, as it is interfacing directly with the Group. Consequently, the ability, and availability to travel to and work in several locations is required.

Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Project Controls, the successful candidate will be required to perform cost analysis, cost management and cost control activities.
Responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of cost reports and associated documents.
Ensuring corporate systems are up to date and an accurate reflection of the project
Monitoring of aged debt & project Financial Reviews
Preparation of Client specific monthly reports
Contribute to progress meetings, as required, in support of the Project Manager.
Regular interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned financial position with the Project Plan.
Monitoring KPIs as necessary
Risk & opportunity management relative to the cost engineering role
Project set up, close out and reconciliations.
Assist in the establishment and maintenance of the project cost reporting system and procedures.
To prepare and maintain cost reports for either a medium sized project or a medium sized sub-element of a major project.
Application of project controls processes and systems utilization
Project cost forecasting
Ensuring correct cost allocation / Revenue and gross margin monitoring

The candidate
Degree qualified.
Engineering background
Understanding of the UK Nuclear Power & Defence industries including Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal and Environmental factors.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a cost engineering role
· SAP knowledge - Desirable
· Conversant in business English

Salary
· Salaried Band £45-£60K
· Car allowance of £5K
• 28 Days annual and 3 days need to take at Xmas
• Discretionary bonus
