Job Description:

Our client, a specialist M&E Contractor within the Water and Wastewater sector, is currently looking for a CAD Technician to join their Clean Water team on a permanent basis, where you will be responsible for the production and coordination of Computer Aided Design Deliverables, on combined Process / Mechanical / Electrical schemes in the water industry.

You will get the opportunity to work on a wide range of diverse projects, from small-scale pump replacement projects, to large-scale water networks and treatment plants, across a large client base, where strong relationships have been forged over the past 20+ years.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing drawings, schedules, and other electronic designs to programme and budget.
  • Developing professional and technical competence in CAD and information management.
  • Ensuring CDM and Health & Safety is applied to all projects.
  • Ensuring drawings are appropriate, are checked and meet the expected levels of technical quality.
  • Seeking innovation in the delivery of CAD and BIM.
  • Ensuring the IMS and CAD manual is actively applied.
  • Helping support focus on SHARED LIFE.
  • Supporting with the delivery of the business Sustainability activities.

Candidates will ideally have:

  • A relevant qualification in CAD / Engineering. (i.e. City & Guilds / HNC / HNC / Degree).
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Solidworks design packages.
  • Broad knowledge of CDM, IMS and H&S legislation.
  • Experience of Non Infrastructure Water and Waste Water Engineering Projects.
  • Recent experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Membership with an appropriate professional institution (Desirable, not essential).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM modelling, Projectwise (Desirable, not essential).
