Buyer – Housing Developments - COINS User – Salford - up to £36,000 - Office based

Client
My client is a regional, housing developer with a reputable reputation in the region for delivering high quality homes in the northwest region

Role
You will be working alongside our lead buyer and our apprentice buyer. You will be part of the Commercial function of the business and responsible for purchasing materials, invoicing, and coordinating site call offs and technical support to all departments.

Duties
Send out enquiries for appropriate materials, collate and analyse quotations and place orders with suitable suppliers for specified materials ensuring the goods are delivered on the required date and purchased at the most competitive rates and within budget.
Ensure quality and performance of materials are in line with required standards.
Interview and appoint new / potential suppliers, Meet representatives for information on new product, price queries, delivery problems and general partnership building
Encourage and develop wherever feasible negotiated agreements with suppliers and manufacturers.
Inform other departments of all relevant information regarding changes in materials, major price movements, delivery lead times and individual supply situations.
Maintain purchasing records in line with policies and procedures.
Action queried invoices and resolve through to completion to meet reporting and processing dates as set out by Finance.
Monitor damages, theft and maintenance on invoices.
Action site requests for additional materials not covered on the bulk orders.
Maintain call-off schedules in conjunction with Site Teams
Order and authorise the hire of plant and small tools inline with packages agreed by the surveying department. Maintain plant trackers and plant allocation on COINS.
Chase deliveries from suppliers that are overdue or urgent.
Liaise with all relevant colleagues with relation to new site starts, technical problems, new suppliers and general queries.

Candidate
Confident COINS user
Attention to detail to be able to gather, interpret and present data
Qualified to NVQ L4 or higher
Driving licence

Salary
£32,000 to £36,000 depending on experience
