BID MANAGER

Type:Permanenet

Remuneration: £65,000 - £70,000 per annum plus package inclusive of car, meals and accomodation (negotiable)

Location: Sellafield, West Cumbria

 

Bid Manager required to work with a large construction contractor on newly appointed framework of projects at Sellafield.

This role will be to lead the tender team and manage the tendering process for the contractor, within a framework setting and position the company as leading contractor on the framework. Previous experience securing bids for building and fit out projects will be considered favourably. 

This role is perfect for an expereinced Bid manager seeking an adventure. As such you will be required to be at Sellafield for most part of the week with some flexibility on hybrid working (subject to the level of experience).


Key Responsibilities:

Develop the bid winning strategy, prior to tender commencement

Identify key supply chain relationships

Identify the resources required for the tender

Manage the tender process, including design, planning, programming, pricing, commercial & submission

Engagement with the client

Be comfortable holding and chairing client meetings

Ensure a coordinated approach between all elements of the tender team

Ensure the team hits all project submission deadlines

Have good experience of overseeing value engineering proposals

Highlight risks and ensure they are addressed within the tender

Lead the tender adjudication

Develop client relationship during the tender and lead post tender client negotiations

Key attributes required:

Excellent Technical Construction knowledge

Previous exposure to a regulated industry

Site based background in earlier career (desirable)

Strong Knowledge of current Building Regulations

Key knowledge of different construction procurement route

Minimum construction qualification to at least HNC

Client and customer focused in order to build productive relationships
