I am looking to speak to Assistant Quantity Surveyors to be based at my clients Teesside office. My client handles projects for the public and private sectors. These include housing, leisure, commercial, industrial, and retail across the Northeast and Yorkshire.


Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 + Car Package


Overview:

Seeking a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join my clients Yorkshire team. Specializing in house building, roads, sewers, and groundwork projects, you will support the financial efficiency and sustainability of our projects.


Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Management: Assist in controlling project budgets and costs.
• Tendering and Procurement: Support the preparation and evaluation of tender documents.
• Contract Management: Help administer contracts and manage disputes.
• Valuations: Assist in conducting work valuations and arranging payments.
• Cost Reporting: Help prepare cost reports and financial statements.
• Project Liaison: Coordinate with project teams and clients under supervision.
• Risk Management: Support in identifying and mitigating financial risks.
• Variation Management: Assist in handling project variations.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal and company standards.
Requirements:
• Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Experience: 1-2 years in construction/civil engineering, with a focus on relevant projects.
• Skills: Analytical, numerical, strong knowledge of construction, proficient in software, and good communication.
• Certification: RICS or CIOB membership is desirable but not essential.
