Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Anderselite have been contracted to source an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a privately owned Main Contractor to join their Liverpool Office.
All the projects are mainly residential, bespoke new builds and refurbishment/conversion of housing, apartments, student accommodation plus other sectors locally and nationally.

The successful candidate will be working closely with Commercial Manager and the team to facilitate the cost-effective delivery and completion of developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administration of the project
• Preparing trade scope and works
• Preparing selected tender list for approval
• Collation and issue of subcontract tenders
• Prepare subcontractors appointment and proposal documents
• Holding and taking minutes of Subcontract Post-Tender and Pre-Order Meetings
• Preparing subcontract documentation for signing by both parties in accordance with BH’s Call Off Contract procedure
• Certifying subcontractor payments
• Assessing variations with subcontractor
• Producing subcontractor instruction/variation reports
• Preparing final account with subcontractors
• Assisting with Surveyors’ monthly cost reports
• Attending Design Team Meetings as required
• Attending subcontractor progress meetings as required
• Assisting in production of contractual letters to subcontractors when requested
• Assisting Project team with financial implications of site progress decisions
• Scheduling of directly procured materials to assist buying department
• Measurement of elements incorporated into designs to establish value and extent of works
• Assist Commercial department with compliance to business core objectives
• Procurement experience


Experience, Qualifications, and skills

• Experience of working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
• Quantity Surveyor related degree or HND/HNC Building Studies
• Good administration skills
• Strong communication and listening skills, with good negotiation skills
• Highly motivated to deliver quality developments
• Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail and demonstrates ability to meet deadlines
• IT literate and the ability to adapt to new systems
• Committed to diversity and inclusion

Salary

• £30,000 - £40,000(depending on experience)

At least 3 years previous experience working in a commercial role for a main contractor preferable in residential sector is ESSENTIAL.
