ASSISTANT QUANITITY SURVEYOR - RAIL CONTRACTOR - NORTH WEST - PERMANENT

Assistant Quantity Surveyor required to work with a Rail contractor based in the North West.  The role would suit a graduate with some post-grad experience within construction or civil engineering.  The role required someone with a sound commercial understanding and will involve working on multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Requirements:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a Construction related subject
  • 1 - 2 years post graduate experience in a similar role would be ideal
  • Some experience of estimating and producing final accounts would be beneficial
  • Experience of working for a construction contractor, delivering construction or civil engineering projects

 

The role will involve:

  • Reporting into the Senior QS, you will be responsible for estimating and pricing works
  • Collating information and producing final accounts
  • Commercial responsibility for works including surveys works, station upgrades, asbestos surveys, brickwork and structural repairs
  • Working under a framework agreement, with a schedule of rates
  • Attending monthly site visits where required
  • Providing commercial updates to the Works Manager where required
  • Commercial management of multiple projects, valued between £50k - £1m
