My Client is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to grow their Project Management offering within the Design & Engineering team, with the opportunity to be based in their Cardiff or Bristol offices.

This is an exciting opportunity within their regional Resilience (Water) Team to provide project management and project co-ordination support to the Design Teams working on Capital Programmes across a number of Water Frameworks within Design & Engineering.

The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers and Design Leads to help them deliver projects successfully for all their Clients.


What will the role involve:

This exciting and challenging role represents a significant opportunity for the right person to showcase their Technical experience and skills, to get involved with the south of the UK’s future water and environmental improvement schemes and to join the growing Water Design & Engineering team.

Assisting the Project Manager and / or Design Lead in providing Project Management leadership to successfully deliver Capital Projects to budget, quality and programme

Reviewing and driving the on-time delivery of key project milestones

Assisting with the review of project resources to help forecast utilisation across all their projects

Assisting with the delivery of timely and accurate data collection, analysis and reports

Being a key player in relation to Project compliance in accordance with Arcadis processes and procedures

Liaison with clients and other stakeholders to understand their specific requirements

Assisting in the preparation of project support policies, processes and systems

Instilling best practice and knowledge sharing throughout the lifecycle of all projects

Mentoring and supporting the development of less experienced members of staff as necessary.


Qualifications & Experience:

Experience working as an Assistant Project Manager, preferably within a Design and Engineering environment

Degree in Project Management or a suitable alternative qualification / experience

Demonstrate strong leadership and be confident in providing direction, support and motivation through our Project teams

Proven people management skills with the ability to motivate and influence

Experience of Capital Programme delivery in an Utilities environment would be advantageous

Able to communicate and work effectively with people from other partner organisations, backgrounds and disciplines, utilising their knowledge and experience to best effect.
