Busy Architectural practice are looking for an Architectural Technician to join their creative team in Somerset.

They are an ambitious, award winning practice and have a range of exciting and challenging projects planned in a variety of sectors working with high profile clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in some bespoke residential schemes through to exciting larger commercial projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong construction knowledge and most importantly, a positive ‘can-do’ attitude with a willingness to take responsibility and solve problems. They will be capable of working both autonomously and within a team whilst always delivering to tight deadlines. They will be fluent in current UK Building regulations, together with a working knowledge of all RIBA work stages. Accuracy and attention to detail and design is vital.

Some of the responsibilities of this position include:

· Production of detailed drawings and technical information from stage 4 through to completion

· The ability to contribute to a design process, solving architectural and technical problems

· Excellent understanding of construction methods and building systems

· Proven experience in delivering for-construction drawings

· Strong technical design skills and a sound knowledge of statutory regulations

· Widely experienced in the residential sector and commercial experience would be beneficial

· Proficient in Autocad. Experience in Revit would be advantageous but not essential.

· Production building regulation package

· Positive and confident approach

The applicant should:

· Be commercially astute with the ability to demonstrate delivering projects within financial budgets and time constraints

· Be able to demonstrate experience in meeting planning policy, residential and commercial design , ensuring quality standards are maintained and UK Building Regulations.

· Have experience in construction detailing

· Have sound communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

· Positive and confident approach

· The ability to liaise effectively and confidently both internally and externally

This is a full-time position, salary dependent on experience. Please note, due to the location of the practice, own transport is essential.
