Workshop Fitter (Construction Equipment Tool Hire) - Walsall - Permanent Role - Start July 2018 - £25,000 to £28,000 Per Annum + Package.

Our client a leading supplier of safety and construction Equipment/Tools/Products, is currently looking for a talented Workshop Fitter to join their team on a permanent basis, in the Walsall area. The role will include the preparation of construction equipment ready for hire on site, as well as the service and maintenance of the equipment, before off hire inspections are completed, following the return of equipment. A key part of this role will also include tracking all labour required / stock parts used on equipment.

The role will suit an experienced individual in the service and maintenance of site equipment (fuel, electric and air powered tools), having knowledge of established brands used within the industry, including but not limited to; Sthil, Honda, Wacker, Makita etc.

Further daily duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of equipment, ready to be hired out on site
  • Completing the service and maintenance of air, fuel and electrical tools.
  • Service and maintain all equipment in line with manufacturers guidelines/specifications.
  • Tracking all labour worked and parts used.
  • Notifying the Team Leader on materials and stock parts required.
  • Notifying the Team Leader on progress of ongoing projects and return/completion dates.
  • Ensuring equipment returned from site is checked over efficiently, identifying any potential damages.
  • Complete inspection of all off hired equipment, documenting repair and labour/parts used.
  • Record and maintain weekly checks on equipment used.

Candidates will ideally:

  • Have previously worked in a similar role, ideally within a similar industry (i.e. construction equipment hire).
  • Have experience in servicing and maintaining fuel, electric and air powered tools.
  • Have competent knowledge of established brands used within the industry; Sthil, Honda, Wacker, Makita etc.
  • Hold a relevant qualification such as NVQ/City & Guilds in plant maintenance (or similar)
  • Hold a valid CSCS Card (desirable).
