Temporary Works Manager

About the role

A client of ours is looking to recruit a Temporary Works Manager to work across 3 sites in London. One of these sites is a high-end residential development in Mayfair, one is development of 1500 homes on the Olympic Park in Stratford and the other central London site is yet to be confirmed.

What you'll be doing

As, Temporary Works Manager, you will:

  • Manage the allocated budget and resourcing for temporary works, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of service on allocated projects
  • Provide expert technical support in temporary works design and management, including overseeing/reviewing the actual construction of temporary works whenever required
  • Provide a temporary works design service to tenders and project delivery
  • Ensure design risks are considered and prepares Designers Risk Assessment, and communicates residual design risks as appropriate
  • Provide technical support to tenders and supports the value engineering of temporary works and identifying of appropriate solutions
  • Support temporary works assurance on projects through conducting audits and regular meetings with project teams, identifying best practice, areas for improvement and areas of concern
  • Ensures a relentless focus on Zero Harm

Who we're looking for

You will:

  • Be a chartered Civil/Structural Engineer
  • Have thorough knowledge of temporary works design, engineering and industry best practice
  • Have knowledge of the principles of framework procurement and experience within the most current forms of procurement
  • Have previous experience of leading technical aspects of work winning bids in a timely manner
  • Able to lead and manage teams effectively, delivering technical expertise to tender and project teams
  • Able to undertake both repetitive and complex Structural Engineering /geotechnical calculations
  • Good working knowledge of a range of structural and geotechnical software packages including BIM
