Job Description:

Our client, a leading construction contractor, who is working for Anglian Water on the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) and is currently recruiting an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator, looking to add to their team on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will be part of a team constructing/connecting kilometres of new water pipelines allowing fresh clean water to better flow across the Anglian Water region, also helping to combat the impact of climate change. This new network is one of the largest infrastructure projects for a generation and is a complex and challenging major infrastructure project. 

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Overall accountability of Temporary Works management to ensure compliance to BS5975 and the principal contractor’s procedures.
  • Enable efficient solutions – Work with delivery team and TW designers to drive efficient TW designs that can be assembled and installed easily, where possible designs to allow for multiple use of the solution across the programme.
  • Ensure TW’s are implemented in accordance with the design – Work with the delivery team to ensure all temporary works are installed, inspected and removed in line with the design and take appropriate action where conditions have deviated from those assumed.
  • Enable the Delivery Programme to be achieved – Understand the wider programme to ensure designs are complete within suitable timescales to ensure the delivery team and supply chain have sufficient time to plan the works effectively.
  • Managing Change – Follow the correct process to ensure all hold points are followed and the necessary checks have been undertaking in consultation with the TW designer.
  • Ensure Procedure Compliance – Maintain all records to ensure full compliance with the design and the procedures, work with assurance teams to monitor compliance and implement any improvements identified following the assurance process.

Candidates will ideally:

  • Have experience managing Temporary Works for large construction / civil engineering projects.
  • Have experience of working on large-scale infrastructure projects / programmes of work.
  • Hold a relevant qualification such as a Temporary works degree, CITB qualification or other applicable training.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of engineering principles relating to temporary works.
