Job description

We are working with a leading compliance and testing services consultancy, to recruit a Technical Manager for their Water Treatment division, based in Oxfordshire

The role

To take responsibility for design and upgrade of equipment including but not limited to:-

  1. Design of new and updates to existing equipment including mechanical, electrical and software.
  2. Maintain schematics, both electrical, mechanical and O & M manuals and issue to Production Department for inclusion in the build files system.
  3. Control of any R & D designs and testing.
  4. Oversee the build of newly designed equipment ensuring any changes required are made and documented.
  5. Working with the project manager to organise initial project meetings to include all relevant departments.
  6. From these meetings assist with the creation of a program of works for the equipment build from start to completion.
  7. Take overall responsibility for the creation of BOMs for equipment and ensure these are added to the system.
  8. Attend the internal bi-weekly project meetings.
  9. Keep the Operations Manager informed of progress / concerns etc.
  10. Organise post project review meetings.
  11. Review costs and margins with the Operations Manager.
  12. Provide telephone support to clients both technical and non-technical as required.
  13. Training of Production staff in the area of PLC and CAD drawings as required.
  14. Ensuring service team are familiar with new and upgraded equipment

To assist in the quotes process of non-standard works as required including but not limited to:-

  1. Costing of parts and equipment.
  2. Liaison with clients as required.
  3. Attendance at site meetings where input on equipment is required.

To assist service department with site visits including but not limited to:-

  1. Site surveys for installation works.
  2. Site witnessing of installed equipment.
  3. Any other site attendance that is required in order to service our clients.
