Job Title: Technical Manager (Water Industry, AMP6)
Type: Permanent Vacancy
Location: Peterborough & Cambridgeshire
Salary: Circa £60,000 to £70,000 Per Annum (Negotiable on Experience)

Our client, a large contractor within the Water Industry, is currently looking for a Technical Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role you will be responsible for planning all technical aspects of relevant water projects and programmes, by working with the Project Lead and other associated teams, as well as assisting with the creation of design strategies. You will be expected to deliver and coordinate all technical aspects of projects, in accordance with the agreed plan, obtaining additional resources where required, forecasting such changes and managing resourcing costs throughout each project.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, Coordinate & Deliver technical aspects of key Water projects across the Anglian Water region
  • Monitor and report your teams progress.
  • Ensure that H&S is implemented in design work, ensuring a safer working culture (risk mitigation)
  • Ensure pre- construction information and design risk assessments are completed, compliant with CDM and the requirements of AW's Safe and Well procedures.
  • Setting up and maintaining policies and processes, communication channels between the different business departments as they continually grow.
  • Support the Engineering Team to assist with design objectives, ensuring that, wherever possible, designs are driven by Standard Products or proven designs.
  • Ensure every effort is undertaken to align the design with construction teams, providing them with assistance to deliver the project in line with the Industrialised Construction ethos.
  • Manage key stakeholders. Provide technical liaison with the end-user & construction manager.
  • Be the key interface between design & project teams and strive to provide excellence in customer service to Anglian Water customers and stakeholders.
  • Take the lead in driving a culture of continuous improvement within the design and wider community.
  • Ensure effective communication and interfaces with the Procurement Team and supply chain.
  • Work alongside the Project Delivery Manager & Project Lead & Water Discipline Head.

Applicable candidates will ideally have:

  • Construction Degree or similar
  • Experience of Managing a Technical team
  • Previous experience working within the water industry.
  • Have come from a Technical background
  • Understanding and knowledge of NEC
  • Sub contract management and procurement experience
  • Excellent communication skills
