Location: South Birmingham

Job Length: 6 months+ (Possible extension available)
Pay Rate: £250.00 - £300.00 Per Day (Negotiable)

Our client, a large Civil Engineering / Construction contractor who operate within the Water industry, are looking for a Site Manager to work on one of their key projects for Severn Trent Water. The contract should last for a minimum of 6 months (subject to extension) and will involve completing maintenance work to existing water assets / water infrastructure on a large Water Treatment Works Plant, which could range from cleaning out existing water storage tanks, upgrading access to assets by installing permanent ladders/platforms, replacing existing assets or upgrading components/plant/equipment or completing repair & futureproofing work, including painting/waterproofing assets, to prevent assets from deteriorating and needing to be replaced in the future.

The applicable candidate will have ideally working in a similar role, completing maintenance / upgrade work and will ideally be able to complete all relevant paperwork / oversee a team of Supervisor/Foreman/Operatives on site, instructing them on how to complete various tasks.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Inspecting assets and agreeing the most effective solution with the client (Severn Trent), ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective solution is chosen.
  • Overseeing a team of Supervisors/Foreman/Operatives or subcontractors on site.
  • Completing all required paperwork, ensuring Health, Safety & Quality documentation (i.e. RAMS) are in place prior to work commencing and are adhered to throughout the maintenance/upgrade process.
  • Regularly reviewing projects and assets.
  • Commercially challenging projects at all times.
  • Reporting into an on-site Project Manager.
  • Ensuring company KPI's are achieved.
  • Keeping all documentation up to date, for work evidencing and future reviews.
  • Producing programme of work
  • Providing updates on project completion, including weekly reports

Candidates will ideally:

  • Have previously worked in a similar role, completing the maintenance and upgrade of Water/Infrastructure assets via Capital Maintenance / CAPEX schemes.
  • Hold relevant qualifications such as CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid, EUSR.
  • Hold a formal qualification within Water, Civil Engineering or Construction.
  • Has strong communication skills
  • Be IT literate.
