Job description

I am currently working with a national house builder who are seeking an experienced Residential New Build Site Manager

The developer prides themselves on attention to detail, ensuring that the end product is of the highest quality.

Working with the contracts manager you will be responsible for the build 2-5 bedroom homes and apartments using timber frame, ensuring they are up to specification, dealing with subcontractors and trades, ensuring the site is in budget and running to correct timescales.

You will be responsible for managing subcontractors throughout the project from conception to completion, arrange labour, plant and equipment, manage the site teams, ensure health & safety is adhered to at all times, ensure units are NHBC compliant.

You as the successful Site Manager will have a stable career history working within residential construction, predominantly traditional build, working on brown field developments with up to 200 units, consisting of 2,3,4 bedroom homes and apartments consisting of timber frame.

You will oversee an assistant site manager and a trainee plus subcontractors and direct labour on a social housing site in Tyne and Wear, you will have experience in building with timber frame and traditional build.

The successful site manager will have

  • Timber frame build experience
  • Social Housing experiance
  • An experienced number one
  • Experience of large scale projects
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • First Aid
  • NHBC regulations
  • Tradesman or degree background
  • NHBC Awards - preferred but not essential
  • Other relevant qualifications / tickets.
  • Stable career history
  • At least 10 years' experience with a housebuilder


Previous experience with residential builds and timber frame is essential, you will require full site management tickets i.e. SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS.

In return, you will can expect ongoing professional support and to be well remunerated up to £48K with a package you would come to expect of a national house builder.
