Job description

Site Manager (number 1) - Rotherham project (contractor based in South Yorkshire) - £35k-£45k+car+benefits dependent on qualifications and experience - new-build apartments scheme - £4.5m.

This is a permanent role, opportunity to join an established regional contractor who are experiencing excellent expansion and have a strong order book.

Responsibilities:-

Daily:
* Manage programme on a daily basis to ensure timescale for job is hit
* Organise trades onsite and agree daily work to be done
* Control on site health and safety and make regular site safety checks.
* Make sure site is clean & tidy and organise labourer accordingly
* Order & receive all site materials
* Check stock and material levels
* Check all work for quality and completion
* Organise and coordinate all subcontractor work
* Set the right attitude on site in terms getting the work done quickly & efficiently

Weekly:
* Meeting with Contracts Manager to discuss progress against programme and any issues arisen
* Order materials for the coming week
* Ensure weekly work schedule is completed on time
* Ensure tasks have been completed in a logical sequence & to the right quality
* Call sub-contractors to organise for the coming week
* Deliver a weekly toolbox talk. Content to be provided by Manager

By project:
* Review project programme of works with Contracts Manager prior to starting job
* Walk around the job to assess the best way to organise the job and review drawings
* Take off of materials & equipment
* Allocate & schedule work between team & sub-contractors
* Ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are being applied prior to job starting
* Ensure costs and work deadlines are met and quality is consistently maintained to the highest level

It is expected that the successful candidate will have the following key skills and attributes:
* Experience as a Site Manager for a main contractor on similar new-build projects
* Relevant construction qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent
* Current SMSTS qualification and valid CSCS card
* Possess a high level of self-motivation and organisation with the drive to succeed and ability to work unsupervised
* Strong communication skills and good personal presentation essential
