Site Manager - Cumbria

You will be working for one of the leading family-owned construction, development and property services businesses in the UK who are experiencing rapid growth at the minute and well experienced Site Managers to grow their team.

The suitable candidate will be responsible for the management and safe delivery of one or more projects, safely, profitably, efficiently and in accordance with the contract.

Main Duties

  • Assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects.
  • Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors.
  • Provide Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Construction Phase Plans.
  • Understand the tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets.
  • Ensure timely procurement of plant, equipment, materials and temporary works.
  • Prepare and monitor programmes of works.
  • Manage design co-ordination.
  • Assessment, engagement and management of sub-contractors.
  • Inform, consult and involve local groups as necessary.
  • Promote and ensure all work complies with safety, quality and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.
  • Understand and administer contract change.
  • Undertake an ambassadorial role representing the business to customers, public and official bodies.
  • Deliver projects defect free to both the company's and client's satisfaction.

You should be

  • Experienced in people management and motivation of staff
  • Have a strong commercial focus
  • Conscientious and hard-working

The ideal candidate will already have at least 3 years experience as a site manager managing construction projects. Ideally across education and commercial builds with an appropriate CSCS card and preferably and SMTS qualification. A First Aid at work qualification is desirable as well as experience in using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
