Position: Site Engineer
Location: Surrey, with UK wide travel
Remuneration: £22,000 - 25,000 per annum plus excellent benefits including share saver scheme, medical insurance, pension, company van, 25 days holiday

A growing and developing ground investigation business is seeking to attract a Site Engineer to their friendly and highly team orientated working environment. This role will support current and future planned project growth.

As a Site Engineer you will be responsible for managing the day to day operational aspects of projects covering safety, quality, productivity, cost control, performance to programme and customer service. You will work on major and prestigious programmes with key clients including Highways England, Crossrail and HS2.

Being a smaller business means that you will develop very well rounded general engineering, management and commercial experience. They will be committed to mentoring and developing you in the path that you wish to take.

There is very low staff turnover, good loyalty and the region is led by a very hands on and approachable Operations Manager with 26 years in the geotechnical industry.

Key Tasks will include:
-Assist in allocating rigs and labour to contracts
-Communicating contract requirements to operatives and other site staff
-On-site supervision and management of small or medium contract works
-Produce/Approve safety documentation
-Procurement of plant & equipment for contracts
-Ensuring plant and equipment is suitable, efficiently utilised, on & off hired promptly and not abused
-Production of contract reports, (writing, compilation, checking and issue of reports)
-Review weekly internal timesheets from current contracts and set production targets to site teams prior to submission to Contracts Manager/Payroll
-Monitor weekly progress against programme requirements

To be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you will hold:
-A Geology / Geotechnical related Degree or equivalent qualification
-Some experience within the geotechnical industry with appreciation of ground conditions, Drilling and Site Investigation works
-Excellent understanding of written English and good standard of letter writing
-Good interpersonal skills to
-Full UK driving licence
-Willingness to learn and develop
