Site Engineer Required - Permanent Role - Mansfield Base - Start August/September 2017 - Salary Circa £35,000 to £40,000 (Salary Negotiable & TBC)

Our client, a national Construction Contractor with over 50 years' experience within the Building and Civil Engineering industries, are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join their growing Building Division. The position will have a base near the Mansfield area and will involve working on both multiple smaller schemes, as well as multi-million pound projects across the midlands region, ensuring that building requirements are set out and correctly interpreted from design to implementation stage. In addition to the above, the applicable candidate will work as part of the Site Management team, assisting with duties such as health and safety, supervision and material control.

Working alongside the Site Manager, you will engage with other contractors on site, to enable the most smooth, efficient and cost effective delivery of applicable projects, while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality assisted by the commercial team.

Duties of this role will include:

  • Setting out and levelling, as required on site.
  • Surveying the site as required.
  • Implementing and maintaining Health & Safety.
  • Check drawings and quantities, ensuring that all calculations are accurate.
  • Help with the selection and purchasing of materials for use in the construction (including values).
  • Liaise with consultants and sub-contractors engaged with the project.
  • Overseeing Quality Control on the site, ensuring regulations are kept to.
  • Resolve unexpected technical difficulties.
  • Maintaining Quality Assurance.
  • Cost Risk Management and early identification of problematic issues on site.

Candidate will ideally:

  • Hold a valid CSCS Card & SMSTS Certificate
  • Have 3+ years' experience setting out on site.
  • Have previous experience setting out various frame structures (Steel Frame, RC Frame) as well as associated groundworks
  • Have previously worked as a Site Engineering.
  • Hold a relevant qualification of degree.
  • Have experience of setting out drainage.
  • Preferably have a working knowledge of CAD.
  • Be computer literate and be able to use Microsoft Office + Packages.
