Job description


Site Agent currently required to join a large Network Rail main contractor in the North West. The contractor undertake a number of different projects across the rail infrastructure involving civils, M&E, structures and buildings. The opportunity would suit an experienced Site Agent, who has developed a very good technical understanding of Network Rail structures and civil engineering disciplines.

The Site Agent will:

  • Be educated to HNC / Degree level in civil engineering or related subject
  • Have experience of working for a Main Contractor
  • Have building and civil engineering experience as this is essential along with experience of design and build projects
  • Be able to deliver multiple schemes.
  • Be willing to travel and work out of hours and weekends
  • Be able to manage direct labour teams and extensive experience in planning & programming
  • Able to use planning software such as Microsoft Project and P6

*** This role would ideally suit someone with a site engineering background with design & construct experience and you MUST have previous rail experience***

The role will involve:

  • Ensuring all projects are carried out with a keen eye on the Company's Health and Safety Policy as well as adhering to Network Rail standards
  • Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with all applicable legislation and the Terms and Conditions of the Contract
  • Completing Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
  • Monitoring works in accordance with the Contract Quality & Environmental Plan
  • Delivering of the contract within programme and budget.
  • Effective management of site staff and managing surveyor to ensure tender allowances are not exceeded.
  • Promoting a continuous improvement culture and the use of best practice
  • Completing formal reports on contract progress to the Contracts Manager.
  • Ensuring that all relevant issues are raised with the Contracts Manager
