My Clients Nuclear Power and Decommissioning team are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their successful Cumbria office to support delivery of technical services that span across the whole nuclear fuel life cycle.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse pool of industry-leading clients, to learn from global experts, and work on some of the most high-profile nuclear power stations in Europe.

As Senior Structural Engineer, you will have significant Structural & Civil Engineering input on their portfolio of Nuclear projects. You will form part of their strong multi-disciplinary engineering team delivering varied and interesting projects for a variety of public and private clients both in the UK and overseas.


Job Responsibilities:

Deliver nuclear design work on projects for a range of public and private sector clients within the UK and overseas.

Prepare detailed technical structural/civil engineering designs.

Work with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high profile projects.

Assist with the management of project delivery.

Assist and mentor team members to promote their technical and professional development.


Minimum Requirements:


Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Civil/Structural Engineering

Able to prepare design work in a wide variety of construction materials, with minimal supervision.

Experience of Civil Engineering plant and equipment for application in Civil / Structural Engineering Design.

Knowledge of design guides, laws, regulations, processes and procedures appropriate to Civil / Structural Engineering.

Competent in the specification of work and also the interpretation and application of results.

Engineering experience demonstrating a record of successful delivery, including positions influencing professional engineers and guiding technical personnel in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering work packages.

Knowledge of relevant design tools, techniques and related methods e.g. IT systems and software.

Able to meet the requirements for security clearance in the UK.

Have a working knowledge of European and American Standards would be advantageous.

Approaching Chartership or holding Chartered Engineer status (MICE or MIStrucE).
