My client, a well known and highly respected Town Planning Consultancy, offers advice to a range of commercial and public sector clients including:

• Major developers
• Housebuilders
• Retailers
• Public bodies such as Homes England


They are keen for Senior/Principal Town Planners to join them and be part of an exciting organisation that takes pride in its people and purpose - being the talent of today that helps improve the lives of the people of tomorrow.

Yours will be an important part of highly capable team and can expect diverse and wide ranging briefs that range from high-rise city centre apartments to prestigious retail parks.

They prepare strategies, applications and Environmental Impact Assessments, negotiate consents, run appeals and appear as expert witness across the UK


What are they looking for?

The ideal candidate will have experience, a proven ability to deliver to a high standard, strong communication skills, passion to share their knowledge and a desire to learn and contribute to the on-going success of their team.

You will be an experienced planner with a good knowledge and experience of the planning process including planning applications, permitted development, policy frameworks, plan promotion and the appeal process.

You will be well versed in using critical thinking to prepare planning appraisals, the preparation of all planning documentation for developments, the associated negotiations with planning authorities and stakeholders, with ideally some experience of EIA.


What will you be doing?

• Devising planning strategies, preparing and submitting various planning applications.
• Preparing planning appraisals and assisting multidisciplinary teams working on planning projects.
• Attending site visits and design team and client meetings.
• Project management and budgetary control on projects.
• Leading project teams, collaborating with and supporting more junior staff.
• Liaising with internal and external clients and statutory bodies, and public consultation, as necessary.
• Devising marketing plans and participating in winning business and business development.
