Senior Site Manager - South Yorkshire - permanent - well-established regional main contractor (based in South Yorkshire and initially running a project in Rotherham) - £45k - £50k+package

The Site Manager is responsible for the production activities of the Company as follows:
* To ensure that contracts are completed to the full satisfaction of clients and within the programmed time in relation to both quality and costs - this to be.
* To enhance and maintain our reputation for Quality and the Environment.
* To develop and improve the relationship and performance of the workforce under his/her control.
* To attain profitable execution of the work.
* To represent the Company where necessary in dealing with clients or their agents, professional staff and sub contractors.
* Responsible to the Project Manager or Contracts Manager. Responsible for the supervision of Foreman, Trade Charge Hands, Operatives, all Apprentices and trainees assigned to the contract under his/her control.



Responsibilities:-

Health & Safety
* Ensure that the Company policy on all Health and Safety matters is adhered to at all times.

Productivity & Quality
* Establish and maintain a high level of output by subordinates and to ensure the level of output meets the Company standards.
* Ensure that the project is adequately administered.
* Ensure that all up to date information is held on site.

Profitability
* Achieve scheduled production targets ensuring that company objectives are maintained.
* Ensure that labour and material costs are controlled and within budget.
* Ensure that purchase orders and variation records are maintained.


Objectives & Key tasks:
* Managing the work in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation.
* Managing tasks in accordance with the project programme.
* Updating and revising project programme as necessary and production and monitoring of short term programmes, in liaison with the Contracts Manager.
* Maintaining high standards of on site welfare facilities.
* To liaise with the project QS to manage sub-contract packages and the overall project cost control.
* Liaising with project QS to ensure all sub-contract packages are let with the correct scope and to the required programme.
* Risk assessments and method statements.
* Labour and plant requirements.
* Maintaining records of all incoming and outgoing information, drawing schedules, correspondence and site diary and site records.
* Producing monthly project reports in liaison with the project QS.
* Identify and resolve problems that arise.
* Allocation of work.
* Liasing with local authorities and all statutory undertakers.
* Liaise with sub-contractors ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with the project programme.
* Provide support to the Project Manager or Contracts Manager in every way necessary to promote the reputation and success of the company.
* Ensure that the Company Policy and Procedures are communicated fully and adhered to.
* Liaising with the Design Team to ensure timely issue of information.
* Plan and review production activities, define the objectives for staff and take action to ensure objectives and targets are achieved.
* Ensure that relevant training is organised.
* Ensure the performance, general conduct, discipline of staff and operatives is of the highest levels.
* Ensure that snags are dealt with promptly pre and post contract completion.
