Job description

We are Currently looking for Senior Quantity Surveyor with MEP experience to join our Commercial team at one of Central London busiest station Capacity Upgrade project. This is a key role in the delivery of the project works on time and within budget, with attention to safety and quality, whilst enhancing our reputation with clients, colleagues and third parties.

Purpose of the job
The Senior Quantity Surveyor (Contract) is responsible for the contractual management of MEP subcontract and MEP design contract. Reporting through the commercial procedures relating to subcontractors and suppliers will be required.

· Ensure compliance with the contractual requirements of the projects
· Costing of value engineering proposals and assisting in the assessment of changes to the accepted programme
· Preparation of contractual correspondence and responding to communications from the project manager
· Assisting the commercial manager in educating the project team in the specific requirements of the NEC conditions of contract.
· Submission of NCE's and quotations
· Manage target cost changes in respect of compensation events and price adjustment provisions.
· Assist the Procurement Manager in commercial and financial aspects of contracts.
· Assist in the maintenance of the procurement plan and associated commercial procedures relating to subcontractors and suppliers
· Provide contractual advice to the commercial, construction and engineering departments.
· Report to the commercial manager on contractual aspects of the project
· Administer the MEP subcontract (NEC3 Option C Subcontract) and MEP design contract (NEC3 PSC Contract Option C) ensuring compliance with the contract and our management systems.
· Manage and assess the monthly payment process for the aforementioned subcontract in accordance with the contractual timescales
· Verification of the subcontractors monthly defined cost which will include undertaking audits on the subcontractor
· Manage and co-ordinate with the package manager the change management process under the subcontracts including drafting of contractors instructions / reviewing NCEs and quotations for compensation events
· Monthly cost and value reporting and presentation to the senior management team
· Liaise closely with the procurement department on commercial matters to be included in subcontracts.
· Registration, notification and evaluation of early warning procedures events.

· High degree of commercial awareness.
· Computer skills - Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer
· Holds a CSCS Card - yellow (regular visitor)
· Educated to degree level or equivalent in a numerate or commercial discipline
· Member or Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)
· The role will require the post holder to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal and to be able to report at management level.
· Educated to HND - HNC level or equivalent in a construction, commercials or related discipline. A low educational level combined with extensive experience in a similar role would meet this requirement
· Experience of working NEC 3 contract.
· Experience working with National Contractors on large Civil Engineering and infrastructure projects.
· Good understanding of EU and UK legislative requirements affecting procurement.
· Analytical mind and logical problem solving.
· Able to work as part of a team.
