Senior Quantity Surveyor - Peterborough/East Anglia/Lincolnshire - Start July/August 2018 (Ideally) - Flood & Coastal Risk (WEM) - Salary Negotiable (Circa £45,500 to £55,000 Per Annum - Please note: Salary is negotiable if required)

Our client, a large national construction contractor operating within the Water & Waste Water sector, is currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, to join their team and to work on major framework projects. The role is based in Peterborough but will cover work across the East Anglia, Lincolnshire & Northamptonshire counties.

The role will involve working with the existing commercial team, to manage a multimillion £ contract, ensuring that the scheme stays within financial parameters and that any changes or early warnings from ECI work, are picked up and resolved with the client.

The scheme involves the design/improvement/construction and overall assessment of flood and coastal risk within the given areas.

Daily duties in this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing input to Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and construction activities.
  • Monthly valuing of the works and making applications for payment.
  • Identifying values and agreeing variations with the end clients.
  • Agreeing final accounts and reporting internally on the financial and contractual status of schemes including completion of monthly financial forecasts.
  • Procuring and letting sub-contract packages.
  • Managing sub-contractors with the site delivery team whilst on site and agreeing final accounts.

Candidates will ideally:

  • Have previous experience in relevant Quantity Surveyor positions.
  • Have worked within the Water industry - candidates from other relevant sectors will also be considered & the role would also suit some from a PQS or Contractor/Framework background.
  • Be familiar with NEC forms of contract.
  • Be able to manage client budgets.
  • Have strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Be IT literate.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (Degree advantageous)
