Job description

Anderselite have been contracted to source a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Civil Engineering business in West Yorkshire.

Following their recent success in securing our position with a local Water Board on AMP7 they are looking for experienced individuals to assist in building the team.

The group will be heavily involved in a multiple frameworks so it is important that candidates that apply for this role has a relevant position with Yorkshire, Severn Trent, Northumbrian Water etc.

Project Values will generally range from £50,000 to £10M, with a projected Year 1 turnover of £10M across four frameworks, this is expected to increase to £25 > £30M by Year 3, The frameworks will be carried out over 4 or 5 years and there is very much the possibility that it could be continued to 8 years.

The Senior QS Role will be across all 4 frameworks with further support being add when required.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

You will be responsible for all commercial and contractual aspects of the Water Frameworks, ensuring contract compliance on all projects and adherence to both Client and Internal reporting requirements, ensuring the timely procurement of Subcontractors and Professional Service Providers as and when required, & ensuring positive margins and cashflow are maintained throughout. Additional quantity surveying support will be introduced on specific frameworks and projects as required and you will be responsible for managing the workload and performance of the team. Reporting to the Framework Manager and Commercial Director you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure full compliance with all contractual requirements
  • Review and vetting of all Contracts issued prior to presenting for Director sign off.
  • Ensure Site Teams are fully aware of the requirements of the contract in respect of scope, design responsibilities, programme, contract notifications and record keeping.
  • Monitor and value all changes and ensure the clients are continually updated with projected final out turn costs
  • Ensure compliance with all contract dates and notice requirements
  • Timely submission of all periodic valuations ensure notifications are received and any issues promptly resolved, ensure expected payments are monitored and received.
  • Procurement and administration of all subcontractors including managing information issues and all valuation and variation procedures.
  • Procurement of Professional Service Providers
  • Working with the Framework Manger to ensure all Client reports are compiled and submitted.
  • Set up and maintain Project Monitors to track out turn cost value and margins
  • Monthly Cost Value Reports and associated cost tracking requirements and production of summary reports to show the performance across all projects on all frameworks.
  • Monitor the Framework specific overhead costs
  • Support to Estimating as required during the tender phase of key projects.
