Job description

One of the world's leading project and cost management consultancies is seeking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor within their Birmingham office to support a variety of projects in the property sector. This business sector involves working on high value, strategically important projects which are high profile within the client's organisations. You will be joining an established Commercial Services Team and will perform a full range of pre and post contract activities.

You will be able to demonstrate a broad range of commercial experience gained in the property sector and have experience of high quality commercial office and residential apartment developments and be able to work on your own initiative within multi-disciplinary teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic individual.


* Developing and maintaining the clients reputation through developing business opportunities
* Ensure the quality and timeliness of service delivery to their clients, acting as primary interface to help build client confidence
* Carrying out the services to be provided in the delivery of projects.
* You will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administration of project accounts and the management of internal job costings in relation to the fee and services and resource requirements
* Able to work independently within a multidisciplinary team across various locations
* You will be responsible for writing, editing and preparing client reports as well as reviewing commercial situation and advising the client accordingly.


* Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (or equivalent)
* Extensive experience in preparing estimates for property related developments
* Experience in delivering Employers Agent Services would be beneficial
* Experience in preparing tender and contract documentation
* Experience of successfully interfacing with clients at senior level
* Good communication skills with ability to prepare and edit written reports
* Good presentation skills with ability to advise senior representatives of client organisations on key issues
* A practical understanding of construction risk and commercial management
* A sound technical quantity surveying knowledge demonstrating established experience and ability
* Experience of managing project commercial teams and supporting other colleagues
* Able to demonstrate effective and efficient post-contract administration
* Knowledge and understanding of the key commercial issues relating to works delivered in the private sector
