Purpose of the Role:
To carry out the preparation of monthly valuations and financial accounts in preperation for
invoicing the customer, Knowsley MBC on a £10 million pound major project scheme, over a period of 24 months. Record, monitor and review the financial performance of contracts. Secure payments within the specified contract terms and manage payment of subcontractors.
To oversee the measurement and preparation of valuations with a view to maximising returns under the provisions of the Contract Conditions and Company procedures, driving the reduction of debit and costs.
To provide monthly updated spend profiles to both internal stakeholders and client .
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Close Alliance with the operational teams to support regional initiatives leading to cost control and / or cost savings
Produce accurate monthly commercial operating statements
Prepare and check subcontract orders
Ensure compliance with company auditing and accounting procedures
Manage measurement and valuation of works undertaken
Agree monthly valuations with client and ensure that payment is received within agreed timescales
Effectively manage the Early Warning / Compensation Event process in accordance with the contract
To be responsible for a dedicated workstream for end to end delivery to ensure best financial value
To work with supply chain, engage with wider market, to review and consider whether the contract is receiving best value
Effective compliance & management of NEC3 Term Service Contract
Where necessary, correct and suitable assessment of both internal/external subcontract valuations, in accordance with the contract and applicable legislation
Key stakeholders:
Service Manager – Work closely with the Service Manager in sharing commercial knowledge and best practice, to effectively manage both financial & contractual risk
Project Manager – Provide contractual guidance to ensure that value and profit is
effectively leveraged from all secured work. Also to work closely with the PM to develop and maintain a forecast profile for the year
Financial – prepare and finalise month end accounts in line with Management Procedures
Customers and clients - build and maintain strong relationships with key customers including local authorities and highways agencies
Sub-Contractor Suppliers - Develop and maintain alliances with subcontractors, to ensure all opportunities are optimised
