Job Title - Senior Quantity Surveyor with responsibility for the quantity surveying operations from initial estimates, tenders, contracts, contract administration and construction delivery phases through to final account. This is a flat structure company so direct report would be business owners. This role could lead to Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager.
Role type - Running 3 projects at the same time. Total value of projects £24 million. One large project and two small. Responsible for one other Quantity Surveyor (as it stands, potential for team growth in the future)
Location - Office based role South Manchester which site visits across the North of the country. Live sites Cheshire and one in London. Predominantly an office based role.
Reporting to - Managing Director
Candidate requirements - A minimum of 10 years on the contracting side, must have worked on Building projects.
Work types - A broad range of experience is preferred although the predominance of our projects at this time are bespoke residential hence experience required.
Experience needed - : Quantity surveying operations from initial estimates, tenders, contracts and delivery phases through to final account.
Estimating, tendering and bidding skills and experience
Extensive knowledge and experience of JCT contracts including Design and Build, Construction Management and Third Party Contracting
Management, Tendering and procurement of trade package contractors
Quantity Surveying duties during the construction stages including monthly valuations, subcontractors accounts, variations, cost and value reconciliations and the Client interface and reporting
Essential Skills:
Hardworking, dynamic personality
Professional and able to communicate at all levels
A team player with excellent communications skills
Strong site experience working on building projects.
Ability to work unsupervised but be part of the team
Prepared to bring the necessary options to the situation to deliver the results
A proven track record of delivering good results
To have character and personality that fits in in with our hands on approach
Salary and package - £50 - £60k car allowance, pension contribution and private healthcare
Start date - February so a month notice period is essential
