Quantity Surveyor Required - Salary £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience and level) + Car Allowance, Pension plus contributions etc - Based in North Lancashire

A dynamic, multi-disciplinary construction company are currently looking for an Quantity Surveyor. An exciting opportunity to work on construction, development and refurbishment projects.

My client handles a variety of different kinds of projects including offices, leisure, health, education, industrial, housing and mixed used projects. Tender / project values will be between £5 and £20 million in value.

This role as an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, growing company lead by a strong team of Construction professionals. This excellent contractor has built a track record of delivering a number of large and medium high quality projects throughout its history within the construction market.

Duties

Sub-contractor procurement

Measure, progress, assist in submitting valuations,

Final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner

Preparing monthly cost reports

Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts

Pricing and submitting variations

Applications/ valuations

Pricing and submitting variations

Liasing with clients and subcontractor

Monitor potential incoming enquiries

Required to build relationships with Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Competitors

Maintain up-to-date market knowledge of labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors

Prepare & send out sub-contract & material enquiries using conquest enquiry system

Where required produce accurate take-off using Excel

Manage, as directed, enquiries for labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors

Price bills/schedules analytically and produce quote comparisons using excel estimating software

Complete tender pricing for adjudication by the tender committee, including reporting on any risks or onerous conditions, providing a winning edge

Liaise with planner to assess programme & preliminaries

Conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports

Applying Value Management techniques at the outset of a project.

On secured projects prepare information for handover to the contract team

Assist in developing Company estimating library

Check tender documentation Measure tender against

Decision Analysis Inform Tender Committee on Contract Conditions

Candidate Essentials

*Construction related qualification

*Ability to take off from drawings - essential

*Experience working in a construction company

*Experience of package negotiation

* Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook

* Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

* Strong analytical and logical skills

* Able to work accurately with figures

* Full UK driving licence

* Hardworking and driven personality

*Dynamic

* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload

* Excellent attention to detail

* Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively delegates as appropriate

Salary and Package

£40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)
