Senior Project Manager - Digital Railways
Central London
Contract £500 - £600 per day

Working as part of the client team on the Digital Railway Project.

Reporting to the System Deployment National Integration Manager, the "Digital Railway - Senior Project Manager" is responsible for the day-to-day management, leadership and coordination of all aspects of the development of the Digital Railway System team products, outputs and services which will enable the respective route to move into a procurement and delivery phase.

The System Sub-programme is a team of Programme and Project Managers who are to lead multi-functional teams of Engineering, Commercial and Controls staff (both internal and external) to achieve specific tasks which are remitted to the System Sub-programme by one or both of:
* The Programme Director- as a pass down of the PD Remit requirements which are in four Sub-groups:
o New Technology & Future Capability System Requirements
o Enablers - Cab Fit
o Enablers- Testing & Training (&Telecoms)
* A Route that requires DR support services in to further Sub-groups:
o Business Case Support
o Procurement Support

The nature of the Digital deployments require experienced Senior Project Managers to quickly establish the teams and associated processes required for the deployment projects as well as mentor and eventually hand over the management of the project deployment teams to DR staff.


The particular skills and experience required include
Complex multi-discipline projects Project initiation and development Programme Management Configuration Management
Risk and Issues Management
Management of Engineers
Stakeholder Management (externally and internally of Sponsors and others) Knowledge of Network Rail GRIP process
Knowledge of Digital Rail Technology

DELIVERABLES
This will be in the form of Senior Project Management support for the project. The Senior Project Manager will provide the Programme with project/programme artefacts including:
Initial Project Review
Project Plan
Project Status Updates Stakeholder Register Financial Authority paper.

In addition to the above, the Senior Project Manager shall:
Manage production of revised SOBC Technical Options Report in line with updated Sponsor Requirements;
Manage production of updates to SOBC Economic, Financial & Commercial cases in line with revised Technical Options Report;
Progress revised SOBC through governance process;
Manage review of existing specifications, ITTs and Requirements to determine suitability for the projects procurement;
Manage production of an initial set of Technical Requirements for ITT by
