Anderselite are working on behalf of one of the leading wholesale food service provider in the UK. They deliver 1.5 million products to thousands of restaurants, pubs, hotels, schools and hospitals throughout the UK.

As a Senior Procurement Manager the purpose of your role will be to negotiate the lowest cost price for market relevant products from the most appropriate suppliers, reducing complaint levels, improving availability and helping to drive sales and improve profitability.

Duties:
- Accountability for supplier selection, supported by merchandising, technical and supply chain responsible colleagues.
- Agreeing cost prices for all products with annual terms agreed on time, ensuring year on year improvements
- Agreeing payment terms with suppliers
- Choosing suppliers that meet the companies technical policy
- Monitoring supplier performances in terms of overall gross margin, complaints and availability and also agreeing corrective actions where necessary
- Agreeing joint business plans with key suppliers
- Maintaining accurate actual cost files and saving pipelines / trackers
- Supporting category management in range decisions and driving sales
- Working with the Product Development team to innovate and create value to the business
- Supporting sales force in tenders with specific customer pitches
- Providing the business with market insight to support pricing decisions
- Board level communication internally and with suppliers
- Working across group and constellation

The candidate
- 5 to 10 years experience in a purchasing role, ideally in FMCG environment
- Experience working with currency management and different tendering models
- Experience of working with external customers and driving sales and margin growth
- Proven track record of managing a significant cost of goods with strong motivation to deliver cost savings
- Experience working within a cross functional team
- MS office experience on Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Flexibility to travel if necessary
- Awareness of FMCG purchasing processes
- Confident presenting to large audiences
