Job description

Senior Planner required for a Main and Principal contractor operating across the infrastructure and rail sector. They have a strong heritage and well developed and loyal client base. They have a proven track record of successful delivery across traditionally tendered projects and longer term partnering agreements. There is a real family feel to the business meaning a well-motivated work force and a very low staff turnover. They now require a contract planner to work on rail projects out their Manchester office.

The Role

Providing planning services on major, multi-disciplinary projects, including analysing and assessing construction phases

Preparing and maintaining project programmes, using P6

Reporting regularly on programme, resource and cost issues

Working with project team (including contractors and supply chain) to ensure clear understanding of project objectives

Communicating with project team to ensure that they understand, and become engaged with, the project programme and client requirements

Seeking regular feedback and taking appropriate action

Seek efficiencies and process improvements, wherever possible

Being aware of, and compliant with, relevant H & S regulations and promoting a culture of awareness within the team

Proven experience in project planning within rail

Proven experience in working on projects within the CP5 framework / Network Rail GRIP processes for project delivery

Previous experience in planning within rail civils projects

Good commercial awareness, including cost planning and budget management

Good people management and team working skills

Excellent communication skills
