Senior Environmental Advisor - Thames Water projects - £45k-£55k+package

Senior Environmental Advisor for our Thames Water/South East Water frameworks. Based throughout the Thames Water and South East Water regions you will visit site locations to undertake environmental audits, provide support and give advice on environmental management. Also, to consult with the Client and Supply Chain Partners.

You will report directly to the National Environmental and Sustainability Manager and the responsibilities will include:

  • Produce Environmental Management Plans (EMP) for projects, including consultation with project and design teams.

  • Undertake environmental audits and inspections on site to review the implementation of EMPs and compliance with legal and other requirements, including the Client's specifications. Undertaking focused/themed audits as required. Supporting external audits as required.

  • Coach site teams and subcontractors in the use of environmental reporting, and other platforms as deemed required.

  • Ensure environmental impacts and considerations are factored in at project design stage through attendance at Design Review Meetings as deemed necessary

  • Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements and other documentation as required, to ensure sufficient environmental content and consideration for activities with specific environmental risks and/or requirements. As directed, support the National Environmental Management on the sustainability approach and drive continuous improvement of environmental/sustainability performance.

  • Provide advice, support and assistance to all project personnel to enable them to manage their environmental and sustainable responsibilities.

  • Undertake investigations into environmental incidents (including reporting incidents to Client and Regulator where required) and improve its, and produce alerts and lessons learnt as required.

  • Qualification in appropriate Environmental discipline
    Strong written and verbal communication and negotiating skills.
    Moderate IT skills
    Effective time and workload management.
    Flexible approach.
    Ability to define goals and plan to deliver them.
    Full driving licence
    Practitioner Member of IEMA
