Job Title - Senior Energy Officer

Sector - Local Authority / Education

Position - Permanent

Location - Manchester

Salary / Package - Up to £40,000 + Additional Benefits (Experience Dependant)

The client is a global consultancy who provide a range of property and regeneration, planning, building control and infrastructure services to range of private sector clients and local governments across the UK. They are currently experiencing an increase in work across a number of their Public Sector & Education Clients and are looking for a Senior Energy Officer to support and reinforce their current team.

The successful candidate will have gained experience working as an Energy Officer for another similar organisation and should be competent when it comes to the delivery of small to medium sized projects. Knowledge and experience in Public Sector and Education projects is required.

Responsibilities - Senior Energy Officer

  • Assist the Energy Manager in optimising the use of all energy and water resources, as encapsulated in the Energy Strategy
  • Undertake energy and water audits of premises to identify inefficient energy/water consumption, make recommendations for the implementation of corrective measures and provide where appropriate detailed costings for installation of remedial and/or additional equipment including controls
  • Ensure compliance with legislation relating to Energy Performance Certificates and Display Energy Certificates.
  • Manage the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme to ensure compliance, including data collation, reporting and purchase/surrender of allowances.
  • Manage energy management database for the monitoring of energy/water consumption and associated costs in order to provide financial reports as well as savings and value for money.
  • Provide data analysis reports and advice to external clients (as required) on all matters relating to energy efficiency, to inform energy policy, strategic planning and budgeting

Key Requirements - Senior Energy Officer

  • Degree-qualified (engineering/environment) or CIBSE, Institute of Mechanical Engineers, Energy Institute etc
  • Experience - and Assessor accreditation - producing Display Energy Certificates and Advisory Reports
  • Experience writing Energy and Water Audit reports
  • Experience delivering CRC Energy Efficiency compliance schemes
  • Experience within local authority or educational establishments
