Job description

We are glad to support a leading consultancy company, operating in the infrastructure sector, in the search for a Senior Environmental Impact Assessment Coordinator. The role will be based in Edinburgh.

The company is one of the leading suppliers of consulting and infrastructure support services in the UK, and with offices internationally and they work across a variety of different sectors including Highways, Rail, Local Authority and Utilities.

The Senior EIA Coordinators is one of the technical leads for the environmental and sustainability teams engaged in the delivery of various projects in the infrastructure, utilities, local government and professional services.

Duties will include designing winning environmental management solutions for tenders, managing the production of contract delivery plans and method statements and providing expert advice in the fields of environment and sustainability.

Some of the specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide guidance on best methods and practice to meet technical and project requirements.
  • Liaise with clients on technical matters.
  • Advise on environmental/sustainability aspects of projects such as but not limited to EMS, environmental assessment, environmental mitigation design, environmental studies, environmental risks, etc.
  • Prepare and Review reports to respond to the relevant statutory body and Local Authorities regarding environmental scoping and assessment reports, planning submissions and permitting for projects, Construction Environmental Management Plans etc.
  • Advise clients on environmental compliance and risks to their projects and contracts; develop innovative solutions for the management of their projects and contracts.

Qualifications requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Environmentalist with experience in EIAs, SEAs, environmental legislation or other environmental area.
  • Experience of working on infrastructure projects preferred
  • Degree in Environmental Science or similar.
  • Chartered Member of a professional body or qualifications leading to chartership.
