Job Title - MRICS Building Surveyor - Senior/Associate

Position - Permanent

Location - Lancashire

Salary / Package - £40K to £60K + Benefits - Negotiable (DOE)

Our client is a global consultancy and construction company who work a range of market sectors and are experts in Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Cost Consultancy, Construction Delivery, Facilities Management and Building Surveying. We are looking for a Senior Building Surveyor who is experienced or has a background working on Education related projects.

The successful candidate will have gained experience working within a Building Surveying role ideally for another Consultancy/PQS organisation, although not essential and should be competent when it comes to the delivery of small to large sized projects. Knowledge and experience gained within Education or other Public Sectors would be beneficial.

Responsibilities - MRICS Building Surveyor - Senior/Associate

  • Competent delivery of all contractual and technical aspects of projects with minimum supervision including the delegation and management of junior team members
  • Supporting the senior managers in the day-to-day running of the business
  • Maintenance of Commercial and Quality Control Procedures for projects under your control
  • Working across a number of projects in different sectors and being able to provide a range of building surveying duties
  • The use and application of standard forms of building contract, such as JCT/NEC
  • Mentoring and training the junior Building Surveyors under your supervision and an active participation in the APC programme
  • Developing business with new and existing clients across the North West region and beyond

Requirements - MRICS Building Surveyor - Senior/Associate

  • Must be Chartered - Member of RICS or equivalent professional body.
  • Accountable for the technical and commercial performance of projects and the team under your control, ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with relevant policies, legislation and procedures and in line with the Companies values.
  • Financially plan projects, balance resource against fee, monitor and record changes on the commission, agree fees, changes and final accounts with clients in line with business cycle.
  • Establish overall plans, specify requirements and ensure resources are in place in the short and medium term to match workload forecasts.
  • Influence, lead and guide your local team so that its service supports the business needs of MBS Property & Assets Lead,
  • Provide technical / professional guidance, mentoring and coaching.
  • Manage staff and their development in harmony with the business strategy.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Assist in meeting the Business Development objectives and represent the company in a professional and brand enhancing manner.
  • Assist with bids and proposals as required.
  • Seek, identify and exploit opportunities for adding value, improving customer service, efficiency and effectiveness through continuous improvement. Seek and exploit opportunities for upgrading business processes.
  • Responsible for Lead on substantial and complex projects.
  • Report progress in line with business requirements.
  • Undertake other appropriate duties commensurate with the role as required by the Head of Service.
