We are delighted to be working with one of the UKs leading multi-disciplined consultancies who are looking to expand their Urban Design & Masterplanning team. Due to a rise of projects, predominantly on large-scale residential developments, they are keen to speak to Senior to Associate Urban Designers in the West Midlands, East Midlands, and South Yorkshire.
What you will be doing:
Leading or significantly contributing to a variety of major projects, or managing a portfolio of smaller schemes, from early feasibility through concept and sketch design to outline planning.
Developing creative and well-researched design strategies for a diverse range of projects, including residential strategic land promotion, urban regeneration, and large-scale, mixed-use sustainable urban extensions across the UK.
Preparing high-quality visualisations-from initial sketches to illustrative and presentation-standard graphics-that effectively communicate design intent.
Producing innovative, structured design solutions that meet client needs and demonstrate a high standard of creativity and technical quality.
Providing clear, concise advice to clients, delivering excellent service while building strong relationships, managing expectations, and consistently adding value to their business.
Playing an active role in team leadership and collaboration, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and productive studio environment.
Helping to identify, win, and deliver new work opportunities in line with the team's business development goals.
Supporting the wider team in implementing the business strategy and driving activities that support sustainable growth.
Requirements:
UK-based experience within a planning or architectural practice, working on residential or mixed-use developments for national housebuilders or housing developers.
A degree in a design-related discipline, such as architecture, urban design, or a closely aligned field.
A strong understanding of current urban design challenges and opportunities within the UK context.
A flair for design and a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes-from strategic masterplans through to the finer details of built areas and public spaces.
Proficiency in a range of design-focused software packages, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and the Microsoft Office suite.
Confidence and skill in hand-drawing and sketching as a key part of the design process.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage and contribute to projects effectively, independently or as part of a team.
