Position: Senior Architectural Technician / Technologist

Location: Birmingham City Centre

Salary: Competitive depending on experience, 8% pension contribution, 20 days holidays plus Christmas closer and Bank Holidays, Life insurance (4x annual salary), healthcare cover.

Description:

This is a great opportunity to join a well know Architectural Practice with a number of studios across the UK who are now looking to grow their Birmingham office.

They are predominantly working in the residential new build sector with major national developers and private house builders. In addition to their residential projects, they also cover mixed use environments with their larger city-based projects.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced Architectural Technician/ Technologist looking for the next step in their career. The roles involves being responsible for managing assistants architectural technicians, projects management, producing working drawings for pricing and construction purposes from planning drawings; producing Planning Application package of drawings.

Responsibility:

  • Liaise with Architects to enable discharge of planning conditions
  • Ensure Building Regulation conditions are discharged promptly
  • Check information supplied to the Planning Team accords with relevant working drawings and specifications.
  • Obtain NHBC/Local Authority Building Regulation/Planning approval.
  • Attend all relevant meetings prior to construction and all subsequent site meetings.

Essential:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in an architectural practice
  • Relevant qualification
  • Proven experience of working on housing residential developments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current Building Regulations, HQI, Lifetime Homes, Code for Sustainable Homes & Construction details
  • Knowledge of planning procedures.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop and In-Design.
