Job description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Tier One Contractor for a Reporting Analyst.

Contract Length- 3 years

Location: Cambridge

Purpose of Role:

  • To support the project's reporting to augment effective decision making
  • Ensure performance is measured across all departments of the Integrated Delivery Team
  • To be timeous and reliable and inform decision makers on a scheduled and ad hoc basis.
  • To develop and improve the teams use of self service functionality.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Map out information inputs and outputs from all reporting touch points both internal and external to the IDT.
  • Drive disciplined behaviours within all teams to ensure quality and timeous reporting.
  • Establish and continuously improve information visualisation on dashboards and reports to ensure different audiences are presented with intelligence and not just mere information.
  • List and map all KPI's from tactile level back to Highways England Business Plan Objectives. The role will need to ensure that what we measure is related to what is important to Highways England
  • Ensure the IDT has a good balance between lagging and leading metrics.
  • Setting up an assurance process for data management.
  • Responsible for meta data and coding to ensure adequate mapping of data sets thus establishing proper integration of departmental information.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion.
  • Has an ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts in detail whilst still retaining perspective and focus on the wider picture.
  • Is good at building relationships and can influence effectively.
  • Has good interpersonal and communication skills and acts in an independent and professional manner with the ability to influence others including senior management.
  • Is a self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to their function.
  • Is not afraid to address and challenge blockers to information or to tackle challenges such as weak performance areas, working in collaboration with Contractors and Designer to improve scores and performance.
  • Can deliver accurate and robust reports orally and written, in an objective and persuasive manner.
  • Is used to delivering in a time pressured environment to meet client deadlines, and driving timely delivery from others.
  • Database administration experience will be viewed very favourably.
  • Strong Excel 2013 skills in data management, pivot tables, dashboards, Power Pivot, Power View and collaboration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI would be desired.
  • Systems integration experience will be viewed favourably.
