An opportunity has arisen for a Planner within our client's Rail Division, delivering M&E packages around London's Rail network. The successful candidate will be based in their St Albans office, working around London. Ideally degree qualified with a minimum of 3 years' planning and Primavera P6 experience, the successful candidate should demonstrate an in depth knowledge of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, and be proficient in the use Primavera P6, including resource and cost loading.

You will be joining an established Planning team reporting into the Planning Manager, delivering M&E contracts across the London Rail & Underground network taking in Station Upgrades, Cable Route Management Systems, Signalling & Signal Equipment Rooms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure planning assumptions and methodologies incorporate Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Production of robust phasing plans and costed, resource loaded programmes to determine construction sequences from "first principles" for tender and/or "live" construction projects
  • Use the programme to produce & assist in the production of project prelim books including, but not limited to, staff resource, logistics and temporary works requirements.
  • Engage with the supply chain to develop the programme with regards to design, lead-in's, construction periods, and plant & labour requirements.
  • Review risk and opportunities for every programme produced and highlight potential mitigation measures in the programme, including float and time risk allowances.
  • Undertake proactive peer reviews of other planners programmes to ensure consistency and continuity within the planning department.
  • Coordinate with other departments & suppliers to provide input into the programme.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience in regional civil engineering and infrastructure projects
  • Good knowledge of NEC types of Contract
  • Understanding of D&B contracts and experience with the design process
  • Commercial awareness
  • Experience of site/contract procedures
  • Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads
  • Good working knowledge of Statutory Processes.
